# Getting Started: Drivers

> Get the app, view your delivery runs, and complete deliveries.

As a driver, everything you need is in the **Digital Florists App** on your phone. You'll use it to see your delivery runs, navigate to each stop, and confirm deliveries with a photo. This page gets you set up and ready for your first run.

## Getting started

<Steps>
  <Step title="Download the app">
    The app is available on both **iPhone** and **Android**:

    * **iPhone** — search for "Digital Florists" in the App Store
    * **Android** — search for "Digital Florists" in Google Play

    [More about the app →](/get-started/companion-app)
  </Step>

  <Step title="Sign in">
    Open the app and enter your **Florist Path** — this is your shop's unique code. Your manager will give you this, or you can scan the QR code on the shop's dashboard.

    Then log in with the username and password your manager set up for you.

    <Tip>
      If your manager has printed a QR code for you, just scan it — it fills in the Florist Path and username automatically.
    </Tip>
  </Step>

  <Step title="Check your delivery runs">
    Once you're logged in, you'll see your assigned delivery runs on the home screen. Each run shows the number of stops, the total orders, and the run status.

    Tap a run to see all the stops — you'll see the recipient name, address, time slot, and order details for each one.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Making deliveries

When you're ready to head out:

<Steps>
  <Step title="Start the run">
    Tap **Start Run** when you're loaded up and ready to go. This lets the shop know you're on your way and, if enabled, starts sharing your live location with customers.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Navigate to each stop">
    Tap the address on any stop to open it in your preferred maps app — **Google Maps**, **Waze**, or **Apple Maps**. You can change which app opens in the app settings.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Confirm the delivery">
    When you've delivered the order (or left a card):

    1. Tap the order, then tap **Confirm Delivery**
    2. Pick a **Delivery outcome** — **Delivered** if you handed the flowers over or left them somewhere safe, **Carded** if you left a card instead
    3. Take a photo of the arrangement (or pick **From library** if you've already snapped one)
    4. Tap one of the **Quick fill** presets for common notes — "Card left through the letterbox", "Left in a safe place at the property", "Left with a neighbour" — or write your own
    5. Tap the action button at the bottom — it reads **Mark as delivered** or **Mark as carded** depending on the outcome you picked

    The photo is sent to the customer automatically as proof of delivery, so make sure it looks good — show the flowers clearly, in good light, with a clean background.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Handle problems">
    If you can't deliver an order (nobody home, wrong address, etc.), tap **Can't deliver** on the order screen. The screen asks for a note explaining why, plus optional ticks:

    * **Mark as carded** — tick if you left a card through the door.
    * **Redeliver tomorrow** — tick to roll the order into tomorrow's schedule.

    Tick one — not both. Either you leave a card today, or you put the order onto tomorrow's schedule.

  </Step>
</Steps>

<Warning>
  Your delivery photos are sent directly to the customer. Take a moment to place the arrangement somewhere presentable before photographing — a clean doorstep, a table, or handed to the recipient. No van dashboards, no bins in the background.
</Warning>

## Scan & Deliver

If your run hasn't been pre-planned, you can build one on the fly using **Scan & Deliver**. Scan the QR code on each order's worksheet as you load the van, and the app creates your run automatically.

## Location tracking

Your manager may ask you to enable **location tracking** in the app settings. When turned on, the shop can see where you are during active runs, and customers with tracking links can see an estimated arrival time. Tracking only runs while you have an active delivery run — it switches off automatically when you finish.

## Common questions

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="What if I lose signal during a delivery?">
    The app queues your updates offline. When you're back online, everything syncs automatically — delivery confirmations, photos, and notes will all go through.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Can I reorder the stops in my run?">
    Yes, but only **before the run has started**. Tap **Reorder** and drag stops into the order you want. Once you've tapped **Start Run** the order is locked.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Can I call the customer or recipient?">
    Yes. Tap the phone icon next to their name in the order details. You can call or text both the customer (person who ordered) and the recipient (person receiving the flowers).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Do I need to keep the app open while driving?">
    No. The app works in the background. Location tracking continues while you're on an active run. When you return to the app, the run list refreshes — there are no push notifications for new stops, so check the app between deliveries if you're expecting a change.
