We don’t sell hardware ourselves, but plenty of florists ask what to buy and where to get it. This page covers what each piece of kit does, roughly what you’ll pay in the UK, and the suppliers we’d point you towards. For the exact models that work with Digital Florists, follow the links through to the per-category Connect pages.Documentation Index

Where to buy
We’re UK-focused, so these are the suppliers most of our shops use:- The Barcode Warehouse — strong stock on Star and Epson; helpful pre-sales team.
- ERS Online — UK specialist POS supplier. Good prices, helpful staff. Their printer product pages usually list compatible cash drawers on the same listing.
- Amazon UK — wider range but check the model and connection type carefully. Make sure you’re getting Ethernet or USB (whichever you want) and not Bluetooth-only.
- Printerland — UK reseller with strong stock on Brother and Star.
A note on card payments
Digital Florists handles card payments through the software, so you don’t need a physical card reader plugged into your till. Payments are taken two ways:- Payment links — send a secure payment link to the customer via email or SMS
- Manual card entry — enter card details directly into the POS (for phone orders or in-person payments where the customer reads out their card number)
If you already have a card terminal from another provider (e.g., Worldpay, SumUp, iZettle), you can continue using it alongside Digital Florists — you’d just record the payment as a “Card” payment method at the POS for cash-up purposes. It won’t be integrated with the software, but your End of Day report will still balance.
Paper and labels
- Receipt rolls — standard thermal receipt rolls, most commonly 80mm × 80mm (the Star mC-Print2 is the exception at 58mm). Buy in bulk from Amazon — make sure they’re labelled thermal, not bond or ink.
- Label rolls — brand-specific stock. Brother QL printers use DK rolls (62mm continuous on most models; the QL-1110NWB also supports 102mm rolls). Zebra printers use their own thermal label rolls. Buy the right ones for your printer or they won’t feed properly — see the Label printers page for detail.
Putting it all together
- Install Digital Florists Connect on your till computer — follow the Mac or Windows setup guide.
- Set up your receipt printer and cash drawer.
- Add a label printer if you do deliveries.
- Create a POS device in Digital Florists and configure its payment methods.
- Open the POS and start selling.
Common questions
What's the minimum I need to get started?
What's the minimum I need to get started?
Just a computer with a web browser. The POS works without any hardware. If you want to print receipts, a receipt printer is the first thing to buy.
Can I use hardware I already have?
Can I use hardware I already have?
If you have a Star or Epson receipt printer, it’ll almost certainly work — see supported models. Cash drawers are universal as long as the cable matches your receipt printer. USB barcode scanners always work.
Do I need a receipt printer if I'm not using POS?
Do I need a receipt printer if I'm not using POS?
No. Receipt printers are only for the POS till. If you’re using Digital Florists just for order management and delivery, you don’t need one — you can print worksheets and labels from any regular printer.
I'm confused — can you help?
