Send to a Friend is a peer-to-peer relay between florists who both use Digital Florists. If a customer wants flowers delivered somewhere you don’t cover, you can send the order to a partner shop. If you’d like extra work coming through, you can receive orders from your partners too.
This page covers features gated by Admin-tier permissions — typically Settings access. Admins have these by default; your administrator can adjust who has them in Settings > Team.
Send to a Friend is included with Orders and is currently a pilot. If you don’t see it in Settings, get in touch.

Linking with another florist

Both shops need to be on Digital Florists. Each shop has a 6-character code on the Send to a Friend page.
  1. Open Settings > Send to a Friend.
  2. Copy your code and share it with the florist you want to partner with.
  3. When they share their code with you, paste it into Link a friend and confirm.
Once you’re linked, the partner appears in your Connected florists list. Each side can pause or resume the link independently using the toggles below.

Sending orders

Turn on Allow your team to send to make Send to a Friend appear as a relay option in the order create flow. When taking an order:
  1. Start a new order and choose Send to a Friend as the relay provider.
  2. Pick the partner florist you want to fulfil it.
  3. Add the products you’re sending with the Add Product button. The list offers a small set of designer’s-choice handtieds at set budgets (Standard, Luxe, or Wow) plus optional finishing touches, so the partner florist designs to a price rather than a fixed recipe.
  4. Add the recipient, address, delivery date, and any notes, then confirm.
The order is forwarded to the partner with the recipient details, address, delivery date, and any notes you added. Your customer pays you for the order. Digital Florists doesn’t move money between the two shops, so you settle with your partner separately.

Receiving orders

Turn on Accept orders from friends to receive orders from your partners. For each connected florist you can choose:
  • Assigned customer — the customer record incoming orders are attached to. This is usually a generic “Send to a Friend” customer you’ve created, or the partner shop itself.
  • Landing location — which of your locations the order should land in. If you only have one location, it’s set automatically.
Incoming orders appear in your dashboard like any other order, ready to make up and deliver.
If a partner sends you an order before you’ve set an assigned customer for them, it won’t come through. Set the customer first, then ask them to resend.

The Connected florists list

Each linked florist shows two status pills:
  • Receiving orders or Not receiving — whether they’re currently accepting orders from you.
  • Can send to them or Sending paused — whether you’re currently allowed to send.
You can update the assigned customer and landing location for each partner at any time. Both sides see the link until one shop turns off their toggles.

Common questions

No. Direct2Florist is a separate paid relay network you connect through Integrations. Send to a Friend is a peer-to-peer arrangement between specific florists who already know each other and both use Digital Florists.
Digital Florists doesn’t handle the inter-florist money. Your customer pays you for the full order at the point of sale; you settle directly with your partner (account, bank transfer, whatever you agree).
Turn off Allow your team to send to stop new outgoing orders, or Accept orders from friends to stop incoming. To remove a link entirely, get in touch and we’ll clear it on our side.
When you add products to a Send to a Friend order, the Add Product button offers a small set of designer’s-choice handtieds at set budgets (Standard, Luxe, or Wow) plus optional finishing touches. The partner florist designs to a price rather than a specific recipe, which avoids stock and substitution mismatches between shops.
