How the pieces fit together
A quick mental model:- Products are what your customers see and buy — “Red Rose Hand-Tied”, a chocolate box, a vase.
- Ingredients are the raw materials that go into them: stems, foliage, ribbon, packaging.
- A product variant’s ingredient list (sometimes called a recipe) is what powers cost prices, margin reporting, and shopping lists.
- Inventory covers stock control on top — turn it on per variant when you want orders to deduct stock automatically.
- Imports is the spreadsheet on-ramp for setting all of the above up in bulk.
- Promotions sit alongside: discount codes that adjust prices at checkout.
